That the Independent team of Heinz & David have bolted the GOP in past elections? Could their history of instability prove fatal to their bid to become Governor & Lt. Governor?
***********
That the current Chairman of the opposition Covenant Party, Martin A. Manglona served as Gov. Babauta's former Director of Immigration? After a short stint and differences with AG Pam Brown, Manglona resigned from his post and is now at the helm of the Covenant Party.
***********
That the current Chairman of the ruling Republican Party, Juan S. Reyes served as a Saipan Senator under the Democratic Party? Yes, the same guy who says David Apatang has not been loyal to the GOP. Did someone say "loyal"?
***********
That former governor Froilan Tenorio (Democrat 1994-1997) bolted the Democratic Party to form the Reform Party in 1999. He was the Reform's unsuccessful gubernatorial candidate in the 2001 general election against the Democrat's Jesus C. Borja, the GOP's Juan N. Babauta, and Covenant's Benigno R. Fitial.
***********
That Governor Babauta, Rep. Heinz Hofschneider, and Speaker Benigno R. Fitial at one time worked together under the Republican Party? Babauta as Washington Rep. re-electionist, Heinz as Precinct 3 House candidate, and Fitial as Chairman of the Republican Party.
